Today we drove less than 20 miles west from Palm Springs to the Whitewater Preserve, that is surrounded by the Bureau of Land Management. This was one of the best outings we have had in the last month.

This days walk took us to Smoke Tree Ranch Trail along another area of San Andreas Fault

To day we stood on St. Andreas Fault one of the most infamous earth quake centres in the world. We entered the Coachella Valley Preserve from 1000 Palms Canyon Rd. a short drive from Palm Desert. there are a number of walks that can be taken, but to day we walked to McCallum Pond
